Ricky Tullos was named the Pearland High School head football coach during a special meeting of the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees this morning.
Tullos comes to PHS from the head football coaching position at George Ranch High School in Lamar CISD.
In 2015, Tullos led George Ranch in a 16-0 season that culminated in the 5A-Division I State Championship.
Tullos brings 17 years of coaching experience to the Oiler program. In addition to his experience in Lamar CISD, Tullos has coached in Livingston, Cleveland, Magnolia and Splendora ISDs.
As the PHS head football coach, Tullos will also serve as the campus athletic coordinator and work with all coaches to ensure success in each Oiler athletic program.
“I will strive to create an atmosphere where success is not only expected in athletics but equally in academics and all other extracurricular activities,” Tullos said. “Our staff will be committed to providing the leadership and discipline necessary to grow as a young adult.”
